2-3 years ago that iPhone and iPad versions of VLC which is one of the most
important programmes.
But VLC having a free
and open source software has experienced licence problems, and VLC removed it
from App Store at the request of organization –VideoLAN team—that is a master
developer of VLC.
Two years later it comes back to App Store after the licence
problems have been solved.
I wanted to share a variety of video and impressions and types
of tests that I did.
First, the current iOS version of VLC is not the AVPlayer, CinexPlayer OPlayer developing further also.
But again, you see the basic features strictly.
First of all, the iOS version of VLC is universal so it is
compatible with both iPhone and iPad.
As far as I have tested ,it promoted most popular video
formats such as the avi, mkv and mp4 .
Also, there is no problem while playing back 720p mkv
video files.
The application can show the subtitle files of videos.
The subtitle file must have the same name as the video file,
just to be different extensions.(For example: test.mkv and test.srt)
At the beginning of the text I shared there is no problem
about playing back the videos and subtitles that are the basic functions of
VLC.
Because language can be chosen as encoding from Settings.
At the beginning of the text I shared there is no problem
about playing back videos and subtitles that are the basic functions of VLC .
But it cannot be said that it is competent about features now.
For example, the name of the files can not be changed from
within the application.
Or font, size
and color of the subtitles can not be changed.
The settings that we can make when playing video are like in
the other paid video applications.
There are many methods of the installation of a video to
this application.
